We're in the midst of the most troubling time of our lives and I feel exceptionally blessed! My blessings are spiritual mostly and non-material. I have everything I need, and the things that I want have changed during the past few months. My faith surpasses the fear that wants to take root. There's no room for fear in my spirit… no room for negativity! COVID-19 is a beast, scary indeed. Fear is a natural emotion at this time. The active hatred is also scary and very troubling. But what I know for sure is that LOVE is powerful. The unconditional love displayed by our medical teams, essential workers and diverse peaceful protesters is a demonstration of God's intention for mankind. This gives me peace.
I'm grateful that my family is well. My friends and their families are well. I thank God for the shield of protection around us. I am surrounded by endless love. Physically I am healthy and reasonably active. I do not take any of this for granted. I'm pleased to quietly reflect and share my expressions in this forum. I was happy before but now that I'm actively engaging in my passion of creative writing, I even happier! What a blessing to have the mind space free of worry, need and fear during these tumultuous times.
I live in Colorado, one of the most beautiful places on earth. We've put our travel on hold but feel like we're on vacation every day. I find joy at home and on my daily walks around the neighborhood. A short drive in any direction can transform my mood. It can also remind be of God's bounty and grace, another blessing!
I recently announced the publication of my upcoming book, Poetic Forecast: Reflections on Life's Promises, Storms and Triumphs. What a privilege it is to share my gift with the world!
